Google Toolbar Replacement for Chrome for Linux

Here is my problem. I am running Linux on all of my machines and trying to do search engine optimization. I prefer the Google Chrome browser since it seems to run much faster than Firefox. One issue I have had with the Chrome browser for Linux is the inability to add the Google Toolbar. One neat feature of the Google Toolbar is the ability to see the PageRank of a site that you visit. How does one do this and run Linux on their computer? The Google Toolbar. Ironically, the toolbar is not available for Google Chrome for Linux, but there is a solution.

I found an incredible extension that allows you to see your PageRank on Alexa and Google, and shows you various tidbits about your site and its presence on the internet. The extension is called “PageRank Status” and is written by Andrew at ChromeFans.org. You can download the extension here: Google Chrome PageRank Extension.

  1. Nice find Brad. I hadn’t come across that particular extension before. I’m still addicted to firefox for now. I agree that chrome is much faster, but I just can’t live without all of my firefox addons. I’ve become too dependent on some of them.
